I had the pleasure of working with Emon on an audition tape. As a theatre actor, being thrown in front of the camera is a very scary thing. Every little nuisance and every little imperfection will be caught on tape. And with very little experience in front of the camera, I was worried that my own insecurities might get in the way of my performance. But Emon brings this sense of ease to the shoot that is combined with a perfect balance of professionalism. The day of the shoot was actually the first time I met Emon, yet somehow I felt like I have worked with him before. He brings in a positive yet genuine energy that made me feel very comfortable as an actor. There was not a single moment when I felt judged or pressured at all. From the very start, the way he framed the shot, I knew Emon was talented and had a great eye. I knew I had nothing to worry about. All I had to focus on was embodying my character and communicating how that character felt at that particular moment. At the end of the day, I think that’s what we all strive to achieve. Emon is a very good catalyst towards achieving that goal: a trait of a great director.
